Full Rulebook is ready and digital files finished!
about 7 years ago – Mon, Mar 20, 2017 at 11:31:35 PM

Hey guys!

Just dropping a quick email to let you all know two things:

1) We finished the rulebook with all of your help.  Thank you to everyone that sent us messages and comments when we dropped out our rough draft last week, it was INCREDIBLY helpful!  We now have our finished rulebook posted here on our site:

http://junkspiritgames.com/wp-content/uploads/botq-rulebook-spreads.pdf

Again, it may take a bit to load since it is a huge file.  Spoilers in there for some fun stuff we added on the end as well.  =)

2) We have finished all the digital files and sent them to the Manufacturer.  Our small team went into crunch mode for the last few weeks and finished up everything we needed from our end to get the ball rolling on manufacturing the game.  There is still a lot of back and forth to do to get everything tweaked perfectly, but we'll let you know if anything that would change our dates comes up.

Let us know if you have any questions or comments!

We are nearly finished with our Rulebook and could use some extra eyes!
about 7 years ago – Tue, Mar 14, 2017 at 12:30:15 AM

Hey guys!

We've been working hard on closing everything out and getting digital files uploaded to our manufacturer.  We still have the rulebook and the Crossover Expansion to finish, but expect them to be done this week.

For this final push, we've created the Rulebook and posted it here and could use your help:

http://junkspiritgames.com/wp-content/uploads/botq-rulebook-rough.pdf

The Rules are essentially finished and we are adding a Lore section at the end of the Rulebook but right now we are creating a Rules Clarification/FAQ section.  Please check out the PDF of our rulebook above and let us know if anything seems confusing or off.  You may have read the rules before from our KS page and we've clarified a couple of things, but all in all they are the same.

Couple things:

  • This is just a Rough Draft, showing off how we plan to convey the rules to players.
  • Let us know if you see anything spelled wrong as well, but we think we got it.
  • The Table of Contents' page numbers will be added when we finish the rulebook.
  • The file is big (40Mb) so may take a bit to Download.  I have no idea if downloading this huge file is going to cause our website to explode.  LETS FIND OUT TOGETHER!!!

Thank you everyone that can take the time to help out here, Travis did a great job laying it all out and we're hoping that we'll have many players confident of the rules as they play because of this document.

Let us know in comments here or through Direct Messages through Kickstarter if you see anything.  =)

Finishing up the game box and final Stretch Goal images
about 7 years ago – Wed, Mar 08, 2017 at 11:26:16 PM

Hey all!

Currently the JSG team is working on finishing up the digital production files for our manufacturer.  We have nearly everything finished and will be working on these items over the next few days:

  • A final pass on the Location cards looking for spelling and grammar issues
  • Creating the Crossover digital files (all the rules are finished already)
  • Finishing the rulebook (Layout is 90% done, just plugging in everything)

....and then we will be done.  We are hoping to have everything done by the 15th, but we'll let you all know if anything comes up that would delay us.

Here is the back of the box btw:

New Nemesis Images

We hastily threw together the $100,000 Stretch Goal on the final day of the campaign, unsure if we would even hit it.  We can't thank you all enough for your trust in the JSG team and we are very excited to add these two new Nemesis monsters to the core box, bringing the total to 8 Nemesis:

We currently do have the pre-order set up, but are waiting on Kickstarter to tell us that everything is fine for all the payments before we move ahead with the backer pledge manager link.  When the backer pledge manager surveys go out, we will send out another update about what is available and what you all need to do next to ensure that everything goes right and you get By Order of the Queen in hand.  (Spoiler - It's just making sure your address is correct)

Thanks all, and let me know if you have any questions either in the comments or through KS messages.  =)

How 'bout that last 48 hours?

If you would have asked us 3 days ago where we would be, we would definitely NOT have answered just over $100k in funding.  This is insane!  Thank you so much everyone for your trust in By Order of the Queen, the campaign, and my small team.  Here is our faces when we hit 100k:

 .

Thank you everyone for your support!

In the next few weeks I'll send out details about the pledge manager.  We are finishing up the last digital files for the manufacturer, and we'll be adding those 2 extra Nemesis cards.....once Justin finishes drawing them lol.  We'll send out pics of that as well.

As we progress, let me know if you have any questions about the game, the pledge manager, the process, anything.  We're super open source about how we do what we do and love to share our passion for gaming with others.

Looking forward to getting By Order of the Queen onto your tabletop!

So, we ARE using a Pledge Manager
about 7 years ago – Wed, Mar 01, 2017 at 11:08:07 PM

Pledge Manager for By Order of the Queen confirmed

I definitely was mistaken with our previous update.  After talking with the crew about our plans after the campaign, and the many many backers that have asked about a late backer system, we decided that using a pledge manager to keep everything organized is the best plan.

Additionally, this will allow some of you that have expressed budgeting issues (because KS will charge you tomorrow night) to be able to back the game late.  There will be a grace period of about 2 months to allow for this before the prices go up to MSRP with full shipping costs.

We will be using Backerkit as we did with our previous campaigns.  They have a great system and they work well to keep everything organized.  They also allow add-ons as well, but since they will be shipping from the USA, in some cases there will be additional shipping charges.  We've had so many of you ask to get a copy of our previous game JunKing, it seemed silly to not make this  and other items available for you.

New Stretch Goals!!

This last day has been insane.  We nearly beat our first day's pledges after those 48 hour emails went out!  So WELCOME to all you new backers, thank you for your support!

We had no idea we would be at $90,000 but it looks inevitable at this point.  So we've created 2 final stretch goals:

At $95,000 we'll be adding UV coating to the Box Cover.  The game will have a matte finish on it like we did with JunKing but we will have the Logo for By Order of the Queen stand out with UV coating.

At $100,000 we'll add 2 more Nemesis monsters.  Justin has sketched these (tonight) and we'll be able to show them off in a future update if we are able to include them.

Our final 24 hours and the campaign close awaits!

Big thanks to all of you that have supported this project, helped get the word out, playtested, dropped suggestions, and messaged and encouraged our small team.  The gaming community is so awesome and it is great fun being creative here.

Thank you all for your continued support!
